Christmas without dad

We went Christmas shopping today,
We got a few things for mum to wrap up and keep her occupied;
But even shopping was upsetting as we didn't have dad to buy for.
And when I took mum home he wasn't there...

I can only imagine how this felt for you. The holidays are definitely a time when the absence of loved ones is so real.

Everyone has their own way of moving through these times. I don't know if you got to read either of these articles: Christmas Grief or Grief and the Holidays. You may find some ideas in them that are helpful to you or your mum.
